October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and Information Technology has built a self-paced learning path available to all GGC students. Students that complete the learning path before the end of October will receive a certificate of completion and be entered for a prize drawing.
The learning path will be available via LinkedIn Learning on October 1, 2025. It consists of videos (all under 6 minutes) and activities curated by Information Technology to introduce key concepts related to cybersecurity, enhance understanding, and provide practice scenarios to identify phishing attempts.
Topics covered include:
- Cybersecurity basics
- Malware infection and prevention
- Password security
- Multifactor authentication
- Social engineering
- Common phishing attacks (such as financial fraud), different methods, and best defense
- Social media privacy
Once students complete all videos and activities (including marking them as complete), they must respond to the form included at the end to receive a certificate of completion from Information Technology and be entered to win a prize.
What is LinkedIn Learning?
LinkedIn Learning is an online library of on-demand video courses covering topics and skills like business, communication, human resources, graphic design, software development, artificial intelligence, and more. Connecting your GGC LinkedIn Learning account to your personal LinkedIn profile allows the platform to suggest courses related to skills and interests on your LinkedIn profile and provides you the option to post course completions on your profile. For more information on LinkedIn Learning and what it has to offer, visit our LinkedIn Learning IT Services webpage.
