Introduction
Recently, some members of the GGC community received emails designed to trick them into sharing their account passwords and other sensitive information. These messages are part of a phishing campaign by cybercriminals attempting to gain access to your account.
Information Technology (IT) wants to remind you that if you receive any communication that seems suspicious or requests sensitive information, please treat it with caution before responding or clicking any links.
Reminder
IT will never request your password or sensitive information via email, online form, text, or phone call. If you suspect you have responded to a phishing message, take these actions immediately:
Protecting your GGC Account
Your GGC Account provides access to email, student records, and more. GGC community members can help secure their accounts by using the following practices:
Secure your account password.
- Verify your Multifactor Authentication (MFA) methods at myaccount.microsoft.com.
- Always keep your passwords and passcodes private.
- Remember, IT will never ask you to disclose your password or passcodes.
Be wary of unexpected MFA requests.
- Do not accept unexpected requests or share passcodes through your MFA device. Providing this access can compromise your account.
Stay vigilant and report phishing attempts.

- Visit the IT knowledge base for instructions on how to report a suspicious email.
- If you are unsure about the authenticity of a message, contact the Help Desk.
- Watch this LinkedIn Learning Course on phishing attacks to learn more.
