Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) is a specialized web browser that locks down the testing environment when used with a MyCourses quiz, test, or exam.
RLDB creates a more secure and controlled testing environment by limiting the actions a student can perform while taking a MyCourses quiz, such as navigating to another webpage, taking screen shots, or even exiting the browser before the quiz is completed.
If Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) is enabled (required) by an instructor for a specific quiz, test, or exam, students will be directed to download and install the RLDB application. Most on-campus computers have RLDB installed. Students must access the MyCourses quiz, test, or exam through the RLDB application.
Human Proctors with RLDB?
There is no human proctor available during a Respondus LockDown Browser testing session.
Instructors may choose to enable the Respondus Monitor recording feature as part of the RLDB experience.
