MyCourses: New Content Experience Coming Spring 2027

On December 14, 2026, MyCourses will transition to the New Content Experience (NCE) as the default content experience for all courses. The updated design will provide a more modern, streamlined, and intuitive way to access and interact with your course content.

Why Are We Making This Change?

The New Content Experience has evolved significantly, with improvements focused on usability, accessibility, course organization, and student engagement. Many of the recent MyCourses content enhancements have also been designed specifically for the New Content Experience, making it the preferred experience for future improvements.

This transition will also create a more consistent experience between MyCourses and the digital learning environment used by the University System of Georgia’s eCore program. Because many GGC students take eCore courses as part of their academic journey, using a similar content experience in both environments can reduce the need to learn multiple interfaces and help students navigate courses more confidently.

What’s New?

A Cleaner, More Modern Interface

The New Content Experience uses a streamlined layout that keeps the course structure visible while displaying learning materials on the same page. This design reduces unnecessary clicks and makes it easier to move through course content.

Improved Course Organization

Prominent module descriptions can help you identify important information and learning expectations. Color-coded modules and a simplified structure also make it easier to locate materials and understand how a course is organized at a glance.

Integrated Learning Activities

Assignments, discussions, quizzes, documents, and other learning materials are more closely integrated within the Content area. You can interact with many course activities directly from Content, creating a smoother and more connected learning experience.

Easier Navigation

An always-visible table of contents helps you see where you are in the course and move quickly between modules and learning materials. The simpler course structure is designed to make content easier to follow.

What Does This Mean for Students?

Most existing course content will continue to function normally after the transition. When you access your Spring 2027 courses, however, the Content area will look and feel different.

As you become familiar with the updated experience, look for:

  • The course table of contents displayed alongside learning materials
  • Color-coded modules and clearer module descriptions
  • Assignments, quizzes, discussions, and documents integrated into Content
  • A simplified path for moving between course materials and activities

These changes are intended to make course content easier to locate, understand, and navigate throughout the semester.
