Introduction
Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 devices will no longer receive security updates or support from Microsoft. To ensure a secure and up-to-date computing environment, all GGC faculty and staff should prepare to transition to Windows 11.
Getting Started
Before bringing your computer to the Help Desk, please complete the following:
- Sync your files to OneDrive. Learn more on the OneDrive page.
- Back up your browser bookmarks (if needed):
Note: The upgrade typically takes 45–60 minutes to complete if your files have been properly synchronized to OneDrive. You do not need to remain at the Help Desk during the upgrade. You will be notified by email when it is complete.
Windows 11 Information Sessions
Information Technology conducts monthly Windows 11 Information Sessions to guide and support GGC faculty and staff as they prepare to transition to Windows 11. The PowerPoint presentation used in these sessions is available here.
