AI Steering Committee


The AI Steering Committee typically meets monthly throughout the year. 

Charge of the GGC AI Steering Committee  

Guide campus-wide Responsible AI Adoption Strategy via the following activities: ​ 

  • Conduct environmental scanning to understand the AI landscape in higher education, especially at peer and aspirant campuses.​ 
  • Create and curate resources that will provide the most value to GGC faculty, staff, and students. ​ 
  • Maintain and share an inventory of AI tools, capabilities, and use cases to facilitate responsible and effective adoption. ​ 
  • Offer audience-based professional development opportunities to create an AI-literate campus.​ 
  • Develop AI-related policies that are equitable to all stakeholders. ​ 
  • Explore and recommend investments aligned with strategy, goals, and objectives. These could be academic and administrative uses of AI.   ​ 
  • Develop guidance on the use of AI by community members including guidance on the use of AI by faculty and students for teaching, learning, and scholarship – consider ethics, data privacy, and academic integrity.  ​ 
  • Prepare all students to use AI as they enter the workforce – consider academics and the student experience. ​ 
  • Identify and promote AI applications that support student success, including AI-driven academic advising and student support services.
