Getting started with Zoom (Students)

Sign in to Zoom for the first time

If you are using Zoom for the first time this semester, it is important to set up your GGC Zoom account. Once you sign in to Zoom, your GGC Zoom account will be activated. Your Zoom account is tied to your GGC email address and uses Single Sign-On to authenticate. Please be sure to always log in to Zoom using the SSO button.

Join a class meeting

If your instructor has set up synchronous class meetings in the MyCourses Zoom tool, you will join the meetings from MyCourses.

View class recordings

If your instructor records synchronous class meetings that were scheduled in the MyCourses Zoom tool, the recordings will be available for you to watch later. You can view the Cloud recordings in the MyCourses Zoom tool. Some instructors may unpublish recordings for privacy/security reasons, so please check with them first if you do not see a recording in the list of Cloud recordings.

Book a 1-1 appointment with your instructor

Some instructors will offer virtual appointments or “office hours” in the MyCourses Zoom tool. If your instructor has created an appointment schedule in Zoom, you can book an appointment with them inside the MyCourses Zoom tool.
