Information Technology (IT) has licensed a new digital accessibility tool called YuJa Panorama that is integrated with MyCourses!
What is Panorama?
Panorama is a tool that improves the accessibility of digital media and course content. It scans, inspects, and converts files to various formats for download, scores the overall accessibility of a course, and offers remediation guidance on individual content items. Panorama integrates seamlessly with MyCourses, ensuring accessibility enhancements are part of the course creation and delivery workflow.
Instructor features
Course Report
Instructors benefit from the Panorama Course Report, which provides a snapshot of the overall accessibility status of their course content. This data empowers instructors to make informed decisions and track improvements over time.
To launch the course report, click Course Tools and select Panorama Course Report in the default course navigation bar.
Remediation Engine
The Remediation Engine streamlines accessibility efforts for Instructors, reducing the time and effort needed to remediate accessibility issues. In addition the accessibility score, the Remediation Engine shows the total number of issues and groups them into categories based on severity. It also provides a comprehensive list of the issues and gives the instructor the option to fix the issue immediately inside the Engine.
DocHub
DocHub is an accessible digital storage space available within the Panorama portal. Users can upload and store files in the Panorama Cloud and sync their accessible content across multiple devices. The uploaded documents will be scanned for accessibility issues, which can be fixed using the aforementioned Remediation Engine.
The DocHub can be accessed by launching the Panorama Course Report from any MyCourses course and then selecting the DocHub icon at the top of the portal menu. Non-MyCourses users, such as Kaufman Library or Communications staff, can request to be added to the Panorama portal by emailing helpdesk@ggc.edu.

What happens to Ally?
Anthology (formerly Blackboard) Ally will be disabled on December 19, 2024, after YuJa Panorama is enabled. Ally links in MyCourses will be replaced with Panorama links. No instructor action is required.
Reasoning
While both YuJa Panorama and Anthology Ally offer accessibility solutions, Panorama stands out with its enhanced user interface, which is designed for intuitive navigation and ease of use. Additionally, Panorama’s faster alternative format generation and comprehensive analytics dashboard provide an edge in delivering a superior user experience.
Panorama also supports a broader range of file formats and offers more robust tools for real-time accessibility checks and issue remediation, making it the better choice for GGC as we work to build a truly inclusive learning environment.
Training Opportunities
Digital accessibility workshops will be scheduled throughout the Spring 2025 semester. Upcoming workshops for January include:
